About us

An estimated 2688 people currently sleep rough on a single night around the UK (source: homeless link) and 1 in 200 people end up in a situation where they have no home (source: The Big Issue).

People become homeless for a variety of reasons, including the high cost of private rentals, lack of social housing provisions and life events beyond their control. Without a permanent address and the dignity and social standing that provides, it becomes extremely challenging to earn a living, maintain mental health and physical wellbeing.

A wide variety of projects throughout the UK are actively working to support vulnerable homeless people. Funded and managed by local councils, charity organisations and community groups these homeless hubs provide a vital escape from the harsh reality of life on the streets. Services are tailored to the specific needs of the local community and often limited by funding availability towards provision of short-term respite rather than long term rehabilitation. At CPS Security Services we are focused on working in partnership with these homeless projects to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all who access the facilities. Our compassionate protection creates a safe space and a trusting environment where support agencies and authorities can begin to help people move away from homelessness on a permanent basis.
The cost of living crisis and homelessness
The crisis will impact people who are already on low or unstable incomes or relying on benefits the most.

Inflation alone will not cause an increase in homelessness and rough sleeping. But it will exacerbate other issues, such as the end of extra accommodation support that was provided to people sleeping rough during the pandemic.

There is a risk that more people will sleep rough for the first time, as households struggle to make ends meet. It will also threaten the progress of people who have rebuilt their lives after homelessness, who may be paying for their own accommodation and bills.
